COPFCU is aware of the Equifax cybersecurity incident that has potentially impacted approximately 143 million U.S. consumers. I want to remind you that Secure Checking accountholders are covered with both credit monitoring and total identity monitoring. More than 1,000 databases are scanned for changes to your credit and your personal information including your social security number, address, voter registration records, recoding/titling offices and driver license bureaus nationwide.

Real-Time Alerts for Any Changes

Our Secure Checking product also provides real-time alerts of any changes to your credit or identity profiles in the monitored databases. I know I will receive notification of any attempt to borrow money using my social security number, register a car in my name, or change my mailing address. I also take comfort knowing that if I do have identity theft, I will have an experienced identity restoration expert from IDProtect® help me through the process until my identity is restored.
