We’re excited to announce the recipients of our 2022 Scholarship Program.

Each year, COPFCU awards scholarships to high school seniors within our membership who display academic excellence and demonstrate a commitment to their community through service projects and volunteerism. Each scholarship provides $1,000 per year for four consecutive years of university study. Congratulations to this year’s recipients!

Maya Kidd

Maya Kidd

Maya is a recipient of the Irvin Specht and Emily Argo Memorial Scholarship.  She was home schooled and plans to attend Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she will major in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology & Communication Sciences Disorders with the goal of opening a clinical practice specializing in hearing impaired and nonverbal individuals. Maya is President of the Butler County Jr. Fair Board and the Butler County Premier Livestock 4-H Club and was chosen to be the 2021 Butler County Fair Queen, as well as the 2022 Ohio Fair Queen. She is a member of the Clover Leaders Council of the Butler County OSU Extension Office and is a Student Leader of Carteens, an Ohio State University Extension program that provides hands-on learning activities and leadership for students who have received a traffic court citation. Maya is also a member of the Cross Country and Track teams.

Christian Kolianos

Christian Kolianos

Christian is a recipient of the Irvin Specht and Emily Argo Memorial Scholarship.  He is graduating from Oak Hills High School and plans to attend Miami University Oxford, where he will study Diplomacy and Global Politics with the goal of building strong relationships between states and communities all over the world.  Christian is a member of National Honors Society, Student Council, German Club, and the German Exchange program. He is also a representative for Hope Squad, in which he was one of 10 students nominated by his peers to help classmates who are suffering from depression or other mental unrest by providing advice, support, and resources for outside help. He is also a tutor for the Writing Center, where he assists other students in strengthening their writing skills, tutors students in AP Human Geography and AP World Geography and is on the Track and Field Team.

Myles Blackwell

Myles Blackwell

Myles is the recipient of our Northwest Local School District Scholarship, which benefits one senior from Colerain or Northwest High School.   He is graduating from Northwest High School and plans to attend the University of St. Francis majoring in Computer Information Systems with the goal of starting a technology company that will make an impact on the world. Myles is in the Financial Services program at Butler Tech, a college-level curriculum that focuses on personal finance, investments, accounting, and business law.  He is Northwest High School Student Body President, Chapter President of Business Professionals of America, Captain of the varsity soccer team, a kicker on the football team, and a Knight in Armor mascot. Myles is also on the Brothers and Sisters United Executive Board and was  selected as the 2022 Northwest High School Business Student of the Year by the Colerain Chamber of Commerce.
