Dennis M. Rees - Chairman
Denny joined the Cincinnati Police Division in October, 1972 after completing 4 ½ years in the Army, including one year in Vietnam as an Infantry Platoon Leader. Denny was assigned as a Patrol Officer in Districts Four and Five and in Research and Planning. Denny was promoted to Sergeant in 1985 and assigned to Districts One and Four. Denny was then promoted to Lieutenant in 1987, serving at the Police Academy, Districts Two and Three, and Patrol Administration. In 1994, Denny was promoted to Captain and served as Night Chief and as Planning Section Commander. Denny was a member of the SWAT Team from 1974 until 1994. Denny retired from CPD in July 1995, accepting the Police Chief position at the City of Loveland. Denny served for 13 years as Loveland’s Police Chief, retiring in December, 2008. Denny joined the Cincinnati Police Credit Union Board Supervisory Committee in 1989. He served as Supervisory Committee Chair from 2000-2005. In 2005, Denny was elected to the board. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
Mark Brown - Vice Chairman
Mark Brown began his career with the Cincinnati Police Department in 1967, and joined the credit union the same year. While working for CPD, Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree from U.C., then went on to graduate from the FBI National Academy. Mark began volunteering with COPFCU in 1983. He has served on the board as a director since 1989. Mark retired from the Cincinnati Police Division in 1994 as a Sergeant. During his time at CPD, Mark served as the President of Police Supervisor’s Association and was a member of the advisory committee to the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission under City Manager Sylvester Murray. He also was a member of the FOP wage committee. After retiring from the CPD in 1994, Mark served as a Change Agent Chief for Fort Wright and Dayton Kentucky Police Departments until retirement in December of 2006. Mark lives in Ft. Wright Kentucky with his wife, Pamela, and son, Shawn.
Gerry Norton - Treasurer
Gerry is a lifelong resident of Western Hamilton County. Gerry lives with his wife Janet; they have three children and two grandchildren. Gerry is a retired Cincinnati Police Officer with thirty years of experience. Gerry started as a member of the Cincinnati Ohio Police FCU in 1968. He has served as a credit committee member, a supervisory member and currently is a board member. Gerry, currently works for Allgeier and Son Construction Company, says “the knowledge I have gained from my contacts and involvement with the credit union has proved to be invaluable assisting with the everyday operations of a construction company.”
Larry Ridener - Secretary
Larry has been a member of the Cincinnati Ohio Police Federal Credit Union Board of Directors since the merger, with the Northwest Employees Federal Credit Union in 2007. Prior to the merger Larry was a member of the NEFCU Board and Supervisory Committee for three years. Larry was a teacher in the Northwest Local School District for more than 30 years. His wife Diana was also a teacher/counselor in the Northwest Local School District for more than 30 years. Larry says “the strength of the COPFCU is its strong member base of police, firefighters, educators and family members. I feel honored to work for this group of public servants who service so many members of our society in very diverse ways. It is important that we continue to reward their work by striving to make this credit union one of the stronger financial institutions in the nation.”
Bill Baumann - Director
Bill was on the board of directors for the Northwest Employees Federal Credit Union since 1986. Bill has continued to serve on the Cincinnati Ohio Police FCU since the merger of the two credit unions in March of 2007. Bill is a graduate of Ohio State University. He taught math in the Northwest School District for 35 years and is now retired. Bill is married to Nancy and they have five children and five grandchildren. Bill says “I have learned so much from serving on the Boards. Each board has had different concerns.”
Daniel W. Oliver - Director
Dan is a lifelong resident of Cincinnati. Dan joined the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union in 1980. Dan joined the credit union’s Supervisory Committee in 2002. Dan attended the University of Cincinnati. Dan retired from the Cincinnati Police Department in 2005 and now works at Winton Woods Middle School. Dan is also the Vice President of the Golf Advisory Council for the City of Cincinnati and President of the W.E.S.T. Golf Club.
Thomas Prem - Director
Tom is a lifelong resident of Cincinnati. He attended the University of Cincinnati receiving an Associate Degree in 1970. After completing his studies, Tom was drafted into the United States Army in 1970 and served in Vietnam. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1971. The same year, Tom was hired by the Cincinnati Police Division and was promoted to Specialist in 1981. Tom served in Districts One, Two and Three, District Two Investigative Unit, K-9 Unit, District One Special Operations Unit, Planning Section, District One Neighborhood Officer Unit, and the Special Events Unit. Tom retired in 2001 after 30 years of service. He joined the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union in 1973 and has been a member ever since. In 1997, Tom volunteered to become a member of the credit unions Supervisory Committee. In 2005, Tom became Chairman of the Supervisory Committee. He now serves as a Director on the Board of Directors.
Joyce Wright - Director
Joyce became a member of the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors in the fall of 2015. She served on the Supervisory Committee since the merger with the Northwest Employees Federal Credit Union in 2007. Before the merger, Joyce was a member of the Northwest Employees Credit Union since 1981. She became a Supervisory Committee member in 1991. Joyce became a Northwest Employees Federal Credit Union Board Member in 2004. In 2006 she was elected Treasurer. Joyce was a Special Education Teacher in the Northwest Local School District for 35 years and is now retired. Joyce lives in Green Township, Ohio with her husband Tom. They have two sons.
Vince Demasi - Director
Vincent L. Demasi has been a member of the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union since 1975. He was appointed to the Supervisory Committee in 2001 and Supervisory Committee Chairperson in 2014. Vince and his wife Sherry live in Oak Hills and have three adult children. Vince earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati and received a Master of Business Degree with a concentration in Finance from Xavier University. Vince has spent 40 years in law enforcement, beginning his career in 1975 as a police cadet with the Cincinnati Police Department. In 1980, Mr. Demasi was hired by the Cincinnati Police Department where he served until retirement as an Assistant Police Chief in 2012. In 2014, Chief Demasi was hired by the City of Mt. Healthy where he currently serves as their Police Chief. Vince also served as the President of the Queen City Lodge 69 Fraternal Order of Police from 1988-1992. During his tenure he brought fiscal oversight and stability to the organization establishing the first outside professional audit company, Beyer and Associates, to assist in managing Lodge finances. In addition to representing officers and successfully negotiating two exceptional employment contracts, Vince led the planning effort to build the Police Memorial located at Central Parkway and Ezzard Charles Drive.
