We are pleased to announce the recipients of our 2017 Scholarship Program. Each year, COPFCU awards scholarships to High School seniors within our membership that display academic excellence and demonstrate a commitment to the community through service projects and volunteerism. The scholarships provide $1,000 per year for four (4) consecutive years of university study.
The 2017 recipients are:

Alexis Brown
Alexis is a recipient of the Irvin Specht and Emily Argo Memorial Scholarship. She is graduating from Princeton High School and plans to attend Fisk University in the fall, where she will study Biology. Alexis is president of Princeton’s Key Club, and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, Tri M, and the Princeton Mentor program. Alexis is also part of a mentor program called March Empowerment, which teaches elementary school students good learning skills. Alexis is also an active member of Princeton’s thespian troupe and symphonic orchestra. Outside of school, she works at TGI Friday’s, and is a Team Leader at Chick-fil-A.
Catherine Upchurch
Catherine is a recipient of the Irvin Specht and Emily Argo Memorial Scholarship. She is graduating from Anderson High School and plans to attend the University of Cincinnati, where she will study Nursing. Catherine is a member of the National Honors Society and is a four-year athlete at Anderson, receiving the Redskin Award in 2016 for soccer. She was also a member of the Crosstown Concussion Crew and part of the medical team for concussion research at the University of Cincinnati Football Camp in 2016. Catherine volunteers at the Special Olympics, works at the Silver Ladle, and is also a lifeguard.
Jason Hentz
Jason is the recipient of our Northwest Local School District Scholarship program, which benefits one senior from Colerain and Northwest High Schools. Jason is graduating from Northwest High School and plans to attend the University of Dayton, majoring in Engineering. Jason is in the Financial Services program at NWHS, a program that emphasizes personal finance, investments, accounting, and law. He is also the Treasurer of the Northwest Chapter of Business Professionals of America, and is involved in Student Senate, U-Knighted Knights, Freshmen Mentor Program, and the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Team. Jason was the recipient of the Outstanding Knight Award in 2016 and 2017. Jason also works at the Knights Credit Union, the student-run credit union at NWHS, and is a co-op at the COPFCU Colerain branch
