2015 Scholarship Recipients

The Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2015 Scholarship Program. Each year, the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union awards scholarships to High School seniors within our membership that display academic excellence and benefit their community through service projects. The scholarships provide $1,000 per year for four (4) consecutive years of university study.

The 2015 recipients are:

Ciara Smith

Ciara is a recipient of the Irvin Specht and Emily Argo Memorial Scholarship. She is graduating from the School for Creative and Performing Arts and plans to attend the University of Cincinnati in the fall, where she will study Chemistry. Ciara is highly involved in numerous activities, including YMCA Black and Latino Achievers, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated Gems Program, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Health Careers Explorers Program. Ciara is also an active member of her church, where she participates in many community service activities to help people in need, including serving as a junior counselor for the Lincoln Recreation Center and working at St. John's Church Soup Kitchen.

Sarai Dean

Sarai is also a recipient of the Irvin Specht and Emily Argo Memorial Scholarship. She is graduating from Winton Woods High School and plans to attend Northern Kentucky University in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine. A devoted musician, Sarai is a four-year member of the marching, symphonic, and pep bands, sitting first chair in each, and is also a tuba soloist. Sarai is also a member of the golf team, Model United Nations Program, Chinese Club, National Honors Society, National NAACP Youth, and Key Club. Outside of school, Sarai volunteers at Matthew 25 Ministries and Q in Chapel Church.

Samantha Goebel

Samantha is the recipient of our NWLSD Scholarship program, which benefits one senior from Colerain and Northwest High Schools. Samantha is graduating from Colerain High School and plans to attend the University of Cincinnati in the fall, where she will be studying Business and Operations Management. As a devoted athlete, Samantha has been highly involved in high school athletics, participating on the Colerain Varsity Swim Team as well as the Clippard YMCA Swim Team. Samantha also serves as President of Volunteering for the National Honors Society and is a member of the Spanish Honor Society and Cardinals in Action. Outside of school, Samantha is a volunteer at Vineyard Church Northwest and works as a lifeguard and Assistant Manager at her swim club.
